Symbiosis Online MBA vs IICT Corporate MBA: is the price gap worth it?

Symbiosis’s online MBA is a university degree with a strong brand behind it — and a price to match: ₹3,70,000, or ₹3,15,000 if you have two years’ work experience. IICT’s Corporate MBA is an MBA Diploma awarded by the institute for ₹32,150 — about a tenth of the cost — with a Fast-track 1 year option, admission every month and 28 specialisations. If the Symbiosis name on a university degree is what you are buying, the premium can make sense. If you want the management qualification and the skills without the lakhs, IICT is the smarter spend.

  • ₹2,82,850 less — than Symbiosis even after its ₹55,000 work-experience scholarship
  • ≈ ⅓ of a semester — IICT’s whole fee against one ₹92,500 Symbiosis semester
  • 1 year — on IICT’s fast track, against a 2-year programme

Which one fits you

Symbiosis is the better fit if…

  • the Symbiosis name on a university degree is specifically what you are paying for
  • you have the budget — ₹3.15 to ₹3.7 lakh — for a fully online degree
  • you want new-age electives such as FinTech or ESG & Sustainability
  • you can plan around the January or July intake

IICT is the better fit if…

  • you want an MBA for about a tenth of the cost — ₹32,150 against ₹3.15 lakh or more
  • you want to finish in 1 year on the fast track rather than 2
  • you would rather start now than wait for the next intake
  • your specialisation is industry-specific — Foreign Trade, Banking, Insurance, Hospital Management
  • you want to keep your savings working: the whole IICT fee is about a third of one Symbiosis semester, with Flexi EMI

Not a ceiling: PNB Housing Finance’s annual reports record its former MD & CEO, Girish Kousgi — now MD & CEO of IIFL Home Finance — as holding an executive master’s diploma in Business Administration from IICT.

The bottom line

Symbiosis is a respected university, and its online MBA carries that name. For some careers and some employers, that brand is worth paying for.

But the gap is more than ₹2.8 lakh — money that, for most working professionals, buys more as savings, a course in a specific skill, or simply time. IICT gives you a structured management qualification in as little as a year, at a fee you can recover quickly. And if you need a university degree, IICT’s advisors can guide that admission too, at a fraction of the Symbiosis fee.

Need a university degree instead?

IICT offers two routes. Its own Corporate MBA is an MBA Diploma awarded by the institute — the practical, lower-cost choice for most working professionals. If the role you are aiming for asks for a university degree, IICT also guides MBA degree admission with Subharti University (₹65,000, or ₹67,000 in instalments) and Amity University, and the university awards the degree. Either way, one advisor helps you pick the route that fits what you need the MBA for.
